I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kinda mom. I don’t like that about myself nor do I recommend it, but hey – it’s where I am right now and my “gullible optimism” keeps me hoping that one day I’ll get it together. Every once in a while I will exhibit the behavior of a mom who thought ahead and today was one of those days folks. So please join me and relish in this small victory.

What “second nature to most moms” task did I complete today? I remembered to bring snacks to swim lessons. I know, I know, I can virtually feel all the high fives you guys are giving me because you are so impressed. Just kidding, I know almost all of you are like, “she crazy – there are always mounds of healthy snacks in my car at any given moment. It’s not rocket science”.

Prepared moms, I hear you and I’m impressed by you.

Maybe it’s because I have the theme song to Paw PatrolTM on a continual loop in my head at all times (current favorite show of the Jerkin’s brothers) or more likely, the fact that I too love cheese and want to be able to mooch off of my kid’s snacks, I grabbed the bag of Paw PatrolTM cheese bites and an ice pack and headed off to the pool.

I don’t have to talk them into eating cheese but having their favorite characters on the bag is a huge bonus. My little pups (they even pretend to be puppy dogs) hopped out of the pool at the end of their lessons and were so excited to see me holding the bag of cheese bites.

A great source of calcium and protein, we were all satisfied with our little snack. And yes, I say we because who can resist cheese? Not me, I ate some too.

Pick up a pack or two next time you are in Walmart. Under $2 y’all!

Lest you think I’m getting a little too pleased with myself, I forgot to bring drinks.

Xo, Amanda
