Bethany and I have mentioned before (and will continue to mention, I’m sure) that we are NOT beauty experts, but we ARE girls who LOVE beauty products! We were recently given the opportunity to try out a new line of salon quality products sold at Walmart and it’s safe to say that we are hooked. Ken Paves ‘You Are Beautiful’ TM, you are my favorite.
I first met Ken Paves late one night on an infomercial years ago when he did a line of hair extensions with his gal pal Jessica Simpson. I remember thinking “he seems so fun, I wish we were friends.” It’s so crazy that now we ARE friends (J/K… he’s a celebrity hairstylist and his actual best friends are people like Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham). Here’s what you need to know: he’s worked with the manes of Hollywood for years and he’s taken all that high-class learnin’ and developed this amazing line that won’t break the bank. I feel just a little more glam when using his products.. or perhaps it’s just knowing that Eva and Vicki are using the same stuff that makes me feel that way.
Really what matters is the performance. Over the years I’ve run the gamut with hair-care products: expensive, cheap, and (most frequently) the middle-of-the-road and I can honestly say this line is working the best for my hair. I’ve put these tresses through the ringer with color processing (and there’s no end in sight… those grays aren’t going to cover themselves), so taking care of my hair between coloring sessions is super-important.

My daily hair regimen consists of the Nourish & Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner, Detangling Thermal Protectant Spray (Bethany and I also use that on our kids) and the Repair & Nourish Shine Serum. I’m also loving the ‘Thick Conditioning Mask’ a couple of times a week, the ‘Flexible Hold Hair Spray’ for when I take the time to curl my hair, and the Wax Pomade for my 3 year old (that’s right folks – he needs pomade and it’s adorable). Bethany swears by the Dry Shampoo and who am I to question her? She’s right about everything.
The line runs from $10.49 – $18.98, which is a fraction of the cost of most salon-quality products. You guys – it’s sold at his uber fancy salon in Beverly Hills, his own website, AND WALMART. Yep, the same stuff that’s in his salon… you can find in the aisles at Walmart.
