Amanda and I are in no way, shape, or form not beauty bloggers. If you were to check my Google search history, you’d most likely see things like “how to put on eyeshadow” and “why is my mascara rubbing off around my eyes”. I’m 32 years old, and I still don’t have it all together! #realtalk However, we love great beauty products just as much as the next girls. Especially when they don’t break the bank AND you can grab them on your daily weekly Walmart run. So, I wanted to take a minute and introduce you to a few of my new favorites in my makeup drawer.
Covergirl has a new lip balm, called Oh Sugar!. As a reparative/moisturizing lip treatment, it is infused with Vitamin C & E and contains grapeseed oil and avocado butter. WHAT?! Yep. It pretty much feels like rubbing silk on your lips. Reminder: This is a lip balm, not a lipstick. With a perfectly subtle tint, this balm is a perfect go-to for everyone, but especially anyone who is a little lipstick shy. I mean, I still feel like I’ve been playing with mother’s makeup when I’m wearing lipstick. Just me? Oh. Nevermind then. Oh Sugar! comes in 10 different shades, and costs $6.94. Next up is Covergirl’s TruNaked Eyeshadow. I love eyeshadow. I have no idea why, but I do. Confession Time: When I find a palette that I like, I stick with it. Like for years. (enter embarrassed, cheesing emoji here) TruNaked Eyeshadow costs $9.98 and comes in three different color palettes: Nudes, Goldens, and Roses. Each palette has 8 blendable hues in matte, shimmer, and sparkly shades. The mashup options are endless! It’s so fun to try blending different hues. In the above picture, I’m wearing two shades from the Nudes palette. (The shade names are on the back of the palettes.) I applied Shell first, then topped it with Mink. Want to know what I love the most about this product? (I thought so.) Have you ever worn an eyeshadow that caked up in the crease of your eyelid by midday or end of day? Honestly, I think every eyeshadow I’ve ever worn has done this. Not this one. After a full day in this shadow, it’s all pretty much where I left it this morning. So great. Last but definitely not least is Covergirl’s new Plumpify Mascara by blastPRO. Remember how I confessed to having had used the same eyeshadow color palette for years? It’s apparently a trend, because the same goes for my mascara. I’m nothing if not loyal! However, this mascara claims 50X the volume. Eye makeup is my jam. I use eyeliner and mascara like it’s going out of style. This mascara did enough for my lashes, that I didn’t even feel like eyeliner was necessary. (I mean, I’m wearing it in these pictures, because… my jam.) I went a few days without eyeliner, because I loved the look the Plumpify gave my lashes. Also, this isn’t waterproof, but it’s smudge proof. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Covergirl! Does anyone else get tired of constantly doing a quick check to wipe the smudged mascara off your upper lid? (Note, it comes in Waterproof too, if that’s something you might be interested in.) The only con for me is the large brush, but I’ll probably adjust to it after a bit.
