Making the Most of the Last Days of Summer

Make the Most of the Last Days of Summer

Right about now we are all gearing up for back to school! While BST creeps into the forefront of your mind, don’t let it fully take over. Enjoy your last few days of summer! To take advantage of the last week before school starts, I have a method to the madness. Dust off that summer bucket list you made a few months ago. Now is the time to check off a few unticked boxes. We like to have one (can be small or big) activity going on every day of the last week of summer. Write it down!

We love a dry erase board calendar so the whole family can see what’s in store. ???? Is there a creek you’ve yet to visit?

???? A movie everyone needs to see?

???? A milkshake shop you need to try out?

It doesn’t really matter what you are doing, just spending time together without distractions will be cherished.

Another fun way to send summer out with a bang is our take on the Yes Day. I have three kids so a few weeks ago we picked a date on the calendar for each kid to own. The day consists of the kid’s choice of two meals and an activity. Donuts for breakfast and burgers for lunch? You got it! Splash pad for our middle kid, mini-golf and go-carts for the oldest? They are the boss! Each of these days will be some of my favorites from Summer 2021. Build out the best Yes Day that works for your family! You won’t regret it! After the kids get back in school, plan a Yes Day for yourself! Move your body!

Put on a face mask! Meet a friend for lunch! Do you have unused gift cards lying around? Take a day to spend them. It’s been a long summer so treat yo self!
