I have always loved the idea of hosting a Friendsgiving. To be honest, it seemed overwhelming for me to organize and cook a feast twice in one month. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or a big deal.
Hear me out…
Text a few of your friends with the day and time, ask each person to bring a side and a dessert, and let them know you’ll provide the main dish, Honeysuckle White (or Shady Brook Farms in the Northeast and East Coast) Turketta also known as Bacon Wrapped Turkey Breast. (Yum!) You can also make or pick up your favorite side and dessert to add to the mix. Just have the group text out what each person is bringing, so there won’t be any overlap.

Run to Walmart with this shopping list:
- Honeysuckle White Turketta (bacon wrapped turkey breast) (find this in the meat department -fresh!)
- fresh green beans
- mushrooms
- Sweet Potato Pie (you won’t regret this one)
- tea bags
The Honeysuckle White Turketta comes from turkeys that are raised without growth-promoting antibiotics and no added hormones or steroids, exclusively on independent family farms. Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms are doing their part to end childhood hunger in America with the Share Our Strength and No Kid Hungry campaigns. How great is that?! Turketta will be available in select Walmart locations in mid November.
Good news! The turkey breast is already seasoned and so easy to cook. Just follow the directions on the package. It’s delicious and a simple crowd pleaser. My whole family loved the flavor!
In a pan over medium heat, sauté the green beans and mushrooms in olive or coconut oil with salt, pepper, and garlic. Turn down to low once the beans are softened to your liking. Take the Sweet Potato Pie out of the box and set it on the dessert table. 😉
Brew some tea, make a pitcher of sweet and one that’s unsweetened. Serve that and water as the beverage options.
DONE!
Not too hard, right? Friendsgiving is about the gathering and breaking bread together with people you love, but that aren’t your family. We need more face-to-face time with our community and less screen-to-screen time with them.
Well, what do you say? Will you try it out this year?
Thanks for letting me share!
Bethany
