Hello there lovelies! We are members of the BHG Live Better Blogger Network. Amanda and I switch off completing design challenges given to us by Better Homes and Garden. Every other month, we get to redo a space using Better Homes and Gardens products. How fun is that?! Amanda styled her newly revamped fireplace and mantel back in August.

The October challenge is Embrace Autumn, fall into love with the spaces you love spending time in. (See what they did there?) For me, Autumn is all about change. As embarrassing as it is for me to admit, not once have I decorated our bedroom. For eight long years, our master bedroom has been a collection of haphazard, hand-me-down furniture and linens. I know what you’re thinking, “WHAT?! How is that possible? Bethany LOVES styling cute outfits and spaces!” Girlfriends, I follow. The madness had to stop. Here is a before shot. (hands covering eyes emoji)

After falling (can’t stop, won’t stop) in love with the BHG Cabana Stripe quilt, I knew it was time our bedroom got a makeover. For a little pattern play, I mixed the BHG Carson sham with the Cabana Stripe. If I’m being honest, I almost went with the BHG Carson quilt. It’s a beaut! I love that the pattern is stitched on, not printed. It looks so high end! (BTW, the Carson quilt is another reason to check walmart.com for more BHG items.) The BHG sheets I ordered were white, and I decided to dye them (along with the twin flat sheets that I used for curtains, SHHH! don’t tell) emerald green.

Beyond purchasing new Better Homes and Gardens bedding, we painted our walls white and added a gold finish to the top half of our iron bed frame. I love white walls! Buuuut, I could definitely see myself wanting to paint them a dramatic green later. (Don’t tell my painter husband.) Previously, our walls were painted a beige that I refer to as skin color. Gross. White walls are like a breath of fresh air! For the bed frame finish up grade, I wanted to go with a bronze/gold. My sister told me about this (hilariously named, yet amazing) product called Rub N Buff. It’s a wax metallic paste that gives an inconsistent metallic finish that paint just cannot capture. It turned out great. To finish up the space, I added wall mounted lamps and a handmade wall hanging.
Thanks for letting me share!
Bethany
